I've been trying to download an upgrade to the OS on my MacBook for a while, and now I've upgraded my RAM to 4GB (Which was the only specification my Mac did not meet to upgrade to OS X Yosemite), and I would like to know if the App Store will allow me to download the upgrade, before removing everything from my computer, and upgrading to fresh install of Yosemite (Since I will probably create a bootable drive, and wipe my hard drive). I'm running OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard currently, with 4GB of RAM.

Macbook Yosemite Update
My Mac is a 2009 MacBook white model. It has a 2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 4 GB of DDR2 RAM, and the stock hard drive. It is one of the lowest to support Yosemite, so how does that affect performance?

- Download Mac OS X Yosemite. The OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 update improves the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac, and is recommended for all users.
- Apple removed support for intel GMA 950 since Mountain Lion, so I'd say no. The drivers for intel GMA 950 were 32-bit, while Mountain Lion only supports 64-bit extensions I believe there was a fix for Mountain Lion by taking the intel GMA 950 kext from Snow Leopard 10.6.2 which for some reason is 64-bit, but I don't think it'll work in Yosemite.
